James trained at Richmond Drama School and has been a professional actor for 7 years. Earlier this year he returned from a tour of France in Value for Love, written and directed by Philip Ayckborn.

His almost infinite number of theatrical engagements have included a national tour of Words And Music by Noel Coward, the critically acclaimed Edinburgh runs of Newsrevue and Bleeding Arts, John in Jane Eyre, Philip Welch in Deep Blue Sea, Oliver Farrent in I have Been Here Before, Frank Crawley in Rebecca, Clayton in House Guest, Lee in Office Party, Lester Cole in Verdict, Anthony Marston in And Then There Were None, Simple Simon in Jack and the Beanstalk, and Sergeant Hale in Murder on Arrival.

He has performed in The X Fools for Australian Radio and over here in Dr Who and the Apocalypse Element with Colin Baker, available in the shops now.

He appeared in the short films Serendipity, Negative and adverts for the Sunday Mirror.

He has also directed a production of The Bathroom Door.
